Dhiraagu sponsors the facilitators of Kudakudhinge Hiyaa for another year

Dhiraagu has signed an agreement with the Villingili Orphanage, ‘Kudakudhinge Hiya’ to sponsor its facilitators for the 9th year running.

Dhiraagu has been sponsoring its teachers since the year 2008 and the agreement renewal was signed today at a small function held at the Dhiraagu Head Office.

In addition to this sponsorship agreement, Dhiraagu has been assisting the development of the orphanage on various levels over the years. For instance, Dhiraagu has been providing free internet with parental control to Kudakudhinge Hiya since 2008, further to setting up 2 computer labs and a library setup in the year 2013.

Moreover, Dhiraagu has been organizing a fun and exciting activity during the school holidays over the for the kids at Kudakudhinge Hiyaa. In this manner, Childrens’ Evenings, excursions to the  Magic Circus of Samoa and Submarine trips have been organized for the kids over the years.

Child Protection being a significant focus area of Dhiraagu CSR Strategy, it has been contributing to the cause in collaboration with various NGO’s across the country.
As for this, during early 2015, Dhiraagu had joined forced with Advocating the Rights of Children (ARC) to kick start an online child safety programme which has been very fruitful. During the same year, it also set up an indoor play area at the Maldives Autism Association, further to donating various resources to Care Society for their Child Care programmes. 

Moreover, Dhiraagu had recently donated developmental resources over MVR 100,000 to the newly formed Special Educational Needs (SEN) Classes in S. Hithadhoo Al-Noor Centre, L. Gan Thundi & Mathimaradhoo Schools, and also to B. Atoll Education Centre.

The Dhiraagu Special Sports Festival, is also an annual showpiece event of Dhiraagu, dedicated specially to children with different abilities while the annual Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race, the only international road race held in the Maldives, is also dedicated to Protecting our Children.
