Dhiraagu has opened the registration process for Non-Governmental Organizations (NGO) who wishes to take part in this year’s edition of the annual international road race conducted by Dhiraagu, the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race.
This being the only road race complying with the international standards in the country, it is also the 10th consecutive year the event is to be held by Dhiraagu in the Maldives.
With Child Protection being a key focus area of its CSR Strategy, the theme for this year’s race has also been chosen as ‘To help Protect Children’ and all NGO’s would need to have been involved actively in this area for the past 12 months, and have a strong activity calendar planned for the next 12 months as well, to be considered as partner NGO for this year’s showpiece event.
“We have chosen this as the theme for this year’s event as well. Similar to the previous years, we have allocated a donation of MVR 100,000, which will be evenly distributed amongst the top 5 NGO’s as voted by the participants of the race. In choosing the top 5 NGO’s, we will only nominate those NGO’s who have an impressive track record in advocating in this particular field.”, Dhiraagu Public Relations Manager Imjad Jaleel said.
The opportunity is open for all NGO’s across the country until the 16th of July 2016. Additional information such as the application details can now be checked on the website of the race at www.dmrr.mv
Imjad also highlighted that this is a massive opportunity for the NGO’s to increase awareness about their work in this field while also getting an opportunity to raise funds for their activities over the coming year as well through the donations and t-shirt sales.
The date and registration for participants of the race will be announced at a later date, along with the nominated NGO’s and additional commercial partners.
