Dhiraagu wishes to announce the appointment of Mr. Ismail Waheed as the Chief Executive Officer of Dhiraagu effective 29 April 2002.

He will replace Mr. Keith Wilson who will be leaving Dhiraagu at the end of this month after the completion of his 2-year term in office.

Ismail is a graduate in Telecommunications Management and Systems Design, and has over 20 years of experience in the telecommunications field. He joined Dhiraagu, when the Company was formed in 1988. He has held a number of senior positions including Engineering Manager Planning and Projects, Head of Networks and most recently as the Head of Services.

Ismail was the main architect in pioneering the project to provide telephone service to all the islands of the Maldives, and in recent years had played a key role in business development and improving Customer Service.
