Dhiraagu is very pleased to announce that working jointly with the Ministry of Education, "Internet for schools" has been launched today.

Under this scheme Internet access at very special concessionary rates will be provided to all schools in the Maldives. A ceremony to mark this important occasion was held at the Nasandhura Palace Hotel this morning and launched by the Hon. Minister of Education Dr. Mohamed Latheef. At the ceremony, agreements were also signed for the first five schools to be connected, with all receiving a 75% discount on usage.

The Hon. Minister of Education, Dr. Mohamed Latheef while addressing the ceremony expressed his thanks to the management and board of Dhiraagu and said, "As we all agree, today, internet has become a life line for education, something the education system fundamentally needs to survive and grow".

Dhiraagu CEO Mr. Keith Wilson said, "Dhiraagu is very pleased to be working with the Ministry of Education to introduce Internet access to all the schools in the Maldives. Internet and the information it provides is crucial to the development of the people and the country."
