Incoming International Calls to Cardphones and Cessation of Collect Calls
Dhiraagu is pleased to announce that effective 1 July 2002, all Dhiraagu cardphones in the country will be able to receive incoming international calls.

This will mean that customers, especially those living in the islands, will be able to keep in touch with their family and friends overseas more conveniently.

As it is not possible to charge for incoming collect calls to cardphones and due to the increasing logistical and technical difficulties manually processing collect calls, Dhiraagu will also cease International Collect Call Service effective 1 July 2002. This will have minimal impact on customers due to the very low usage of collect call service.

Dhiraagu CEO, Ismail Waheed said, "Allowing incoming international calls to cardphones will make it easier for Maldivians working abroad, especially those who are always on the move, to keep in touch with their families living in the islands. It will also make expatriate workers in the islands reachable more conveniently to their relatives and friends overseas.

We are introducing this service based on the many requests we have received from the island communities, and we believe this will add value to the services we provide to our customers using the cardphones"

Customers with any queries can call 123 FREE (24 hours a day, 7 days a week) or email [email protected].
