Dhiraagu is delighted to announce that it has officially started its 4G expansion project to rollout the service across the entire country. Dhiraagu has engaged vendors to acquire the essential materials and services. Dhiraagu currently provide 100% mobile broadband service all inhabited islands of the Maldives and has the widest 4G LTE service, covering 60% of the population.
With the successful expansion of Dhiraagu 4G LTE service, customers across the country will have access to increased home broadband speeds and will get an overall better experience with Dhiraagu. This major investment to enhance the technical infrastructure is a testament to the continued commitment by Dhiraagu to enrich the lives of people in the Maldives through digital services.
Dhiraagu has connected the entire country from North to South through a fibre-optic submarine cable network, with the objective of providing broadband connectivity across Maldives. The company is proud to have completed nationwide 3G mobile broadband roll out project in 2015, making it the first and only operator to provide broadband services to all inhabited islands of the Maldives. Dhiraagu’s focus is now on delivering 4G LTE services across the Maldives and aim to complete the expansion within 2017.

The company currently provides the largest 3G and 4G LTE service and had also introduced 4G LTE Advanced for the first time in Maldives.
