    Dhiraagu Stops Providing Service To Any New Mobile Customers
    Dhiraagu announces today that with effect from 12th May 1998, the Company will not be selling mobile handsets, renting mobile phones and providing service to any new mobile customers.

    The total number of mobile users are now 1625. This number is almost the maximum the system can support now. Any additional users will require increase in the system capacity and this involves huge investment.

    The General Manager of Dhiraagu Mr.Bob Ure said "Now that it is definite that we will be going for a GSM mobile system in the first half of 1999. We will only maintain the present system with no additional users, to provide the best possible service to our mobile customers".

    He further said, "We are going for a GSM system to meet customers demand and we sincerely hope in the interim our customers will be happy with this decision we have made".
