Winner of Angelhack Maldives 2019 organized by
Dhiraagu, MMA and Sparkhub, has been announced today. At the closing ceremony
held to commemorate the ending of AngelHack Maldives 2019, Team Staylight, emerged
as winners and will now become part of Angelhack’s pre-accelerator programme,
the HACKcelerator.
The HACKcelerator is an invite-only 12-week
virtual pre-accelerator programme, which provides mentorship from a pool of
global mentors and access to international resources to help turn projects into
viable startups.
The winning team
from Maldives was Team StayLight which demonstrated a working prototype on an
instalment payment model for accommodation booking.
“We have been
working on the concept of StayLight for a month and when angelhack was announced,
it made us further enhance our concept and spend our time on research.
Angelhack will be giving our product the international exposure we need &
we are looking forward to hackacclerator programme to be mentored and develop

10 teams competed in Angelhack Maldives 2019, comprising
of local developers and designers. Team Vicura demonstrated a local package delivery
service and Team StudyLab proposed their idea to link students with tutors and
professionals for collaboration and learning. Team Heydha demonstrated an
automatic expense tracking service and Team Freshhub presented
an instant market place for enthusiasts and hobbyists. Team Flybox proposed a
solution to earn using unused baggage allowance when you fly, while Team MemeBaby
presented their platform for mothers to socialize. Team GoWinGo helps you
discover the best deals around you, Team Serotomix proposed a solution to find
your perfect activity buddy and Team Accio proposed a plastic reusing solution
Angelhack is a global hackathon series which began
in San Francisco and is now taking place in over 150+ cities around the world.
Team Staylight will now enter the HACKcerator along with the winning team from
each city.
Dhiraagu, MMA and Sparkhub collaborated to
organize Angelhack Maldives 2019, with the aim to support the startup culture
and provide a platform to foster innovative digital solutions.
