Dhiraagu is pleased to announce the launching of Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) on 2nd July 2005, enabling all Dhiraagu mobile customers to send and receive pictures, sounds and video clips using their mobile phone.

The service can be used wherever Dhiraagu mobile coverage is available. Dhiraagu will activate MMS service for all our Post-Paid and Pre-Paid customers at the time of service launch without customers having to fill an application form or pay a setup fee.

Customers with MMS-compatible handsets simply have to configure their phone and send one MMS to become a registered MMS customer. Customers can configure their handsets for MMS by following the detailed instructions at our MMS website or by visiting Dhiraagu Mobile Shop, TeleShop or preferred partners Checkmark Mobiles, CP and Smart Phone.

Dhiraagu will also setup three MMS kiosks in Male' tomorrow where our staff will help customers to setup their phones for MMS.

As a special introductory offer and to encourage all our customers to set up their phones and become familiar with the service, Dhiraagu will be offering the service free of charge during the first 2 weeks after launch.

After the special introductory period, customers will be charged for the MMS messages they send; the charge will vary depending on the size of the message. Detailed charges for MMS sending will be announced shortly.

As part of Dhiraagu’s renewed commitment to bring exciting modern services that are of real benefit to our customers, work is already well advanced to introduce a number of enhancements to the MMS service over the coming months.

Later this month, our MMS customers will be able to download exciting new content such as ring-tones, games and wallpapers from the Internet using Dhiraagu’s new WAP portal. International MMS service and MMS to roaming customers will also be launched later in the year.
