At a ceremony held at the Telecom Building today, the Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Communication, Science and Technology, Mr. Midhath Hilmy inaugurated Dhiraagu's new Paging system.
This state-of- the-art paging system was purchased from Glenayre of USA, the worlds leading suppliers of paging infrastructure.
The new paging system provides service to a wider geographic area and is capable of satisfying anticipated demand for paging services into the next millennium. Many new features will be available on the new system. Today with the inauguration, Dhiraagu has introduced group paging and voice prompts, as additional new features.
To coincide with the launch of this system, Dhiraagu has also dramatically reduced pager prices. Numeric pagers are down from Rf 1200 to Rf 900/- and Alpha Numeric pagers are reduced from Rf 3200/- to Rf 1800/-
The Acting General Manager of Dhiraagu Mr. Ian Shepherd said "Improved coverage and reduction of pager prices, will make paging more accessible and affordable to a large proportion of the population as well as provide better service to our existing customers."
The Acting General Manager of Dhiraagu Mr. Ian Shepherd, some senior members of Dhiraagu and the Telecom Department attended the ceremony.
