Dhiraagu has a signed a Rf 13 million contract with Informatics (Pvt.) Ltd. for the installation of the GSM billing system.

The contract was signed on 16th June 1999, in Colombo by the General Manger of Dhiraagu Mr. Bob Ure, on behalf of Dhiraagu and Mr. Gamini Wickramasinghe, on behalf of Informatics.

Under the contract Informatics is responsible for the supply of the equipment and to complete installation of the new billing system by November 1999.

The General Manager of Dhiraagu Mr. Bob Ure said "This is part of the project to replace the existing analogue mobile system with GSM, towards the end of 1999. The new billing system will be capable of supporting services that will be introduced with the GSM system."
