Items worth MVR 100,000 were donated to the special needs class at Hamad Bin Khalifa School and Ihahdhoo School in L. Gan.
The donations were handed over to the respective schools by Dhiraagu Director Customer Services and Sales Mr. Ali Riyaz, and Dhiraagu Chief Marketing Officer Ms. Isabelle Hajri, during a ceremony held today at L. Gan Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani School.
The donation was received by Mr. Mohamed Shaukath, Principal of Hamad Bin Khalifa School and Ms. Najuma Abdhulla, Principal of Ihahdhoo School.
The two schools support more than 40 special needs students and the items donated are essential to operate the SEN classes.
Items donated included computer systems, therapy balls, bicycles, wooden toys, educational story books and floor mats.
This is a CSR Initiative by Dhiraagu under our strong emphasis on the protection and development of children. Dhiraagu believes that the items donated would be extremely useful for the schools in the development of these special children.
This contribution is an addition to a series of contributions that has been made towards protecting children over the years. Namely to ARC, Care Society, Maldives Autism Association and Kudakudhinge Hiya. This year, Dhiraagu had also donated similar items to B. Atoll Education Centre’s SEN unit.
In addition to that, Dhiraagu Special Sports Festival is the largest sporting event in the country specialized for children with special needs, and the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race is the largest even of its kind, where runners dedicate their runs to help protect children.
