    Dhiraagu Extends Broadband Internet Service to Further Islands, with WiMAX Technology
    As part of the company’s efforts to extend broadband Internet service to further islands in the Maldives, Dhiraagu has today launched Dhiraagu Broadband WiMax service, at a function held in Alif Alif Thoddoo.

    WiMAX is a standard-based technology in the world enabling delivery of last mile wireless broadband access as an alternative to cable and DSL. It is a new technology and Dhiraagu has deployed a state of art mobile WiMAX network in Maldives to provide broadband Internet service in a convenient way.

    Although Dhiraagu Broadband WiMAX coverage reaches over 50 islands, at time of launch 90% coverage is made available in 27 islands and the service will be promoted in these islands by Dhiraagu and its partners.

    Dhiraagu Broadband WiMAX service is for general residential users, teachers, doctors, students, visitors, businesses, government offices and other similar type of users who wants a Internet access from the islands. Dhiraagu WiMAX is introduced with 3 prepaid plans; 2 plans for home users one at Rf 250 for 2GB and the other at Rf 449 for 4GB and 1 plan targeted for business users priced at Rf 1,900 for unlimited use.

    All you need to use the Dhiraagu Broadband WiMax is a computer and a Dhiraagu Broadband WiMax desktop modem and be located within a WiMax coverage area. Setting up is easy as the modem simply needs to be connected to the computer’s network port. To register, you need to submit a completed application form to Dhiraagu.
