Dhiraagu donates MVR100,000 worth developmental resources to Kulunu Hiya Special Needs Centre of B. Atoll Education Centre
Dhiraagu has contributed over MVR 100,000 worth developmental resources to Kulunu Hiya Special Needs Centre of B. Atoll Education Centre.

The contribution is made towards the center as part of the company’s CSR Programme, which gives a significant emphasis on the development and protection of Children. The items were handed over to the center by Dhiraagu Director, Customer Services & Sales Mr. Ali Riyaz, during a special ceremony held at the B. Atoll Education Centre in B. Eydhafushi.

The items donated included computer systems, iPads, therapy Balls, bicycles, wooden toys, ball pools, water pools, story books, and bean bags in addition to floor mats and various other necessary equipment.

Kulunu Hiya is a segment of B. Atoll Education Centre started in 2014 to cater for children with different disabilities and currently caters for over 12 such students. The school currently has 2 permanent teachers and 1 leading teacher to cater for these students.

With very limited resources available at the school as of now, the items donated by Dhiraagu would be of significant importance to the school as well as for the development of their growing student population, which was highlighted by the School Deputy Principal Mr. Ali Imad following the event.

“We have been running this center with very limited resources over the last couple of years, and this donation by Dhiraagu would be a significant boost to our objectives of catering for these special children.

This contribution is an addition to a series of contributions that has been made towards protecting children over the years. Namely to ARC, Care Society, Maldives Autism Association, Kudakudhinge Hiya.

In addition to that, Dhiraagu Special Sports Festival is the largest sporting event in the country specialized for children with special needs, and the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race is the largest even of its kind, where runners dedicate their runs to help protect children.
