Dhiraagu is contributing over MVR 100,000 worth developmental resources to Al-Noor Special Needs Centre in S.Hithadhoo.
The contribution is made towards the center as part of the company’s CSR Programme, which gives a significant emphasis on the development and protection of Children. The items were handed over to the center by Dhiraagu CEO/MD Mr. Ismail Rasheed, during a special ceremony held at the S.Hithadhoo Al-Noor Special Needs Centre.
The items donated included cerebral palsy chairs, computer systems, special needs keyboards, walking aids, bicycles, therapy balls, floor mats, story books and various other necessary equipment.
Al-Noor Special Needs Class is a segment of Hithadhoo Sharafudheen School started in 2007 to cater for children with different disabilities and currently caters for over 30 such students. The school currently has 4 permanent teachers and 4 temporary working teachers and a coordinator to help the students.
With very limited resources available at the school as of now, the items donated by Dhiraagu would be of significant importance to the school as well as the development of their growing student population.
This contribution is an addition to a series of contributions that has been made towards protecting children this year. Namely to ARC, Care Society, Maldives Autism Association, Kudakudhinge Hiya, as well as the Dhiraagu Special Sports Festival 2015 and the Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race 2015, where runners dedicated their runs to help protect children.
