Dhiraagu contributes MVR 10,000 to Jewel Centre at Imaduddin on the occasion of Autism Awareness Month 2016.
Dhiraagu pledged to donate MVR 10,000 to the Jewel Centre during the ‘1000 likes’ social media campaign which promotes a special autism awareness song by the up and coming band Detune. The objective of this campaign is to create awareness on Autism amongst the society of the Maldives.
The donation was officially handed over to Imaduddin School’s Jewel Centre by Dhiraagu and Detune during a special ceremony held at today at Dhiraagu Head Office.
“Youth development, Education & Children has always been a key focus area of Dhiraagu as a Socially Responsible Company. It is a great honour for us to join with such a prominent youth band such as Detune in order to create awareness on Autism” said Ibrahim Imjad Jaleel, Public Relations Manager.
The lead vocalist Ahmed Furugan (Fuji) highlighted that they chose to partner with Dhiraagu due to the fact that the company has the capacity and interest to help spread awareness in our society on such matters. Further to that, he thanked Dhiraagu for the immense support.
While speaking at the ceremony Imaduddin Leading Teacher Fauziyya Mohamed also highlighted how effective this campaign has been in reaching out to the people with the message intended with this music video. She appreciated the fact that a group of youth had been behind this idea and thanked both Dhiraagu and Detune for the intitiative.
Dhiraagu reached the target of 1000 likes within 6 hours of uploading the video on its Facebook page.
