The relocation of the landing point in Male’ of the fibre optic cable of Dhiraagu has begun.
Following the request of the Housing Ministry, the relocation of the landing point of the cable system’s beach manhole further west to Usfasgandu, has been started by China’s submarine cable system supplier, Huawei Marine Networks. The Deputy Housing Minister Abdulla Muthalib expressed special thanks to the management of Dhiraagu for their speedy and efficient response to the ministry’s request to relocate their Male cable end to make way for the ongoing rapid progression of the bridge project.
“We have no doubt that our staff and the team of Huawei is the top within this area to carry out this relocation. We assure that environmental assessment surveys have been carried out to ensure minimal environmental damages,” said Ahmed Maumoon, Director of Marketing, Dhiraagu.
The work will not interfere with any services provided by Dhiraagu. The estimated completion of this relocation is March 30th 2016. The fibre optic submarine cable system was first established in 2012 to supply high speed internet connection across the Maldives.
