Abdul Gafoor Ali (Gabbe) the well renowned athlete, who recently circumnavigated around Maldives in a Catamaran, has been appointed as the new brand ambassador of Dhiraagu.

Gabbe was officially given the ambassadorship by the CEO and MD of Dhiraagu Mr. Ismail Rasheed at a special ceremony held at Dhiraagu Head Office today. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Ismail Rasheed said that “Gabbe is currently one of the most renowned figure in the Maldives. It is an honour to have such a national hero as a Dhiraagu brand ambassador. Moreover, I would like to thank Gabbe for accepting this opportunity”

Mr. Ismail Rasheed further congratulated Gabbe on his recent achievement circumnavigating around Maldives in a catamaran and hoped that he would remain an example to the youth in the future.

“I would like to thank Dhiraagu for giving me this opportunity. During my journey, I have been offered support from various foreign companies and it is a great pleasure to have a local company supporting and acknowledging my work” said Gabbe. In addition to that, he thanked Dhiraagu for providing the support for the ‘Sailing around Maldives’ Event earlier this year.

Dhiraagu offers the brand ambassadorship to locals who gives honour to the nation and sees Gabbe as a prominent youth who deserves it.

Prior to Sailing around Maldives, Gabbe is renowned for developing sailing and watersports amongst the youth in the Maldives.
