Dhiraagu is pleased to announce the introduction of DhiMobile service to Gnaviyani Atoll today.
The inaugural call was made by the Minister of Education and Dhiraagu Chairman Mr. Ismail Shafeeu to the Atoll Chief of Gnaviyani Atoll Mr. Abdul Rahman Mohamed at a ceremony attended by Dhiraagu CEO Ismail Waheed, senior officials from the Ministry of Communications, Science and Technology, Dhiraagu and the media. A ceremony was also held in Gnaviyani Fuvah Mulah at the same time, attended by the Atoll Chief and a number of invitees from the public.
Dhiraagu CEO, Ismail Waheed said, "Today we mark another important milestone in our efforts to extend mobile coverage throughout the Maldives. With the extension of mobile coverage to Fuvah Mulah, DhiMobile service is now available to 68% of the country's population and this will increase to 73% at the end of the current project."

Note to Editors: The introduction of DhiMobile service in Gnaviyani Atoll is part of a Rf110 million project to extend mobile coverage to 16 islands in 7 Atolls in 2003. When this project is completed later this year, mobile coverage will be available in all resorts and 86 other islands in 19 Atolls covering 73% of the country's population.
