Tomorrow we celebrate the 1st anniversary of DhiMobile Pre-Paid service, the most successful product introduced by Dhiraagu in the recent times.

Today, over 23,000 customers of all ages use the service; a clear confirmation Dhiraagu is delivering that service customers want and at an appropriate price.

To make this popular service available to a wider population of the country, Dhiraagu has invested over Rf 65 million this year to improve and expand service to the north of the country.

Since last September, mobile coverage has been extended to an additional 31 islands, bringing mobile service to all 88 resorts and 54 inhabited islands in 13 atolls. A further 17 inhabited islands will be covered before the end of this year, providing DhiMobile coverage to 54% of the population of the Maldives.

In addition to extending coverage across the country, the mobile network is being constantly upgraded to ensure a high quality of service is maintained with the rapidly increasing number of customers.

During the year, Dhiraagu had also introduced 6-second billing in January and 1 second billing in July, which would have offered substantial savings to customers using the service.

Over the last year, Dhiraagu has also introduced new services for DhiMobile Pre-Paid customers - SMS in January and CallerID in March this year. Dhiraagu has plans to introduce new and innovative services during the coming months.

Dhiraagu CEO, Ismail Waheed said, "DhiMobile service has become an integral part of our daily lives and the use of this service, Pre-Paid in particular, is increasing on a daily basis. As mobile communications plays a major role in the socio economic development of the country Dhiraagu places special emphasis on extending mobile coverage."
