Gnaviyani | Fuvahmulah

When this project is completed later this year, the percentage of the population living in the mobile coverage area will increase from the current 54% to 73%, thereby providing coverage to nearly three quarters of the population.

Dhiraagu will be investing Rf110 million this year to expand DhiMobile services. In addition to extending coverage to these new islands, the mobile exchange and base stations will be enhanced to further improve the quality of service offered to the existing customers, and to meet the forecast demand during the year.

Dhiraagu CEO Ismail Waheed said, "Since DhiMobile GSM service was introduced in late 1999, we have been expanding the service to a number of new islands each year. Dhiraagu is committed to continue to invest strategically to extend mobile coverage to more islands over the coming years, whilst at the same time ensuring that our customers are able to enjoy a high quality, reliable and affordable service".
