Dhiraagu announces today (30th December 1999), that to celebrate the new millennium the company has introduced a commemorative phone card.

The card depicts the evolution of telephone from the 1950's to the present day.

The Deputy Minister for Communications, Science and Technology Mr. Midhath Hilmy launched the commemorative phone card at a special ceremony held at the Ministry today at 11.00 hrs. Mr Bob Ure General Manager of Dhiraagu requested Mr Midhath to launch the card.

The card will be available to the public from Dhiraagu card stand to be opened at the artificial beach at 0000 hrs on 1st January 2000.

Dhiraagu also announces today, that it has awarded a cash prize of RF 10,000/- for the lucky winner of the millennium phone card. This lucky draw will be held among the cards sold from the 1st January to the 30th of January. The serial number on the card will be considered for the lucky draw.
