Due to increasing logistical and technical difficulties manually processing collect calls, Sri Lanka Telecom and Dhiraagu have bilaterally agreed to discontinue this service between Sri Lanka and the Maldives effective 2 February 2002.
This change does not affect International direct dial (from fixed line, mobile and cardphone) and operator assisted (person-to-person and station-to-station) calls.
