Dhiraagu wishes to advise all customers that due to sun interference there may be a degradation to international telecommunication services (including Internet) during the period 1 and 22 March 2002, between 1055 - 1110 hrs and between 1240 - 1345hrs.
The dates and times of these degradations will vary depending on the country to which telephone calls or services are established.
In addition, communication between Male' and the Southern Atolls (G. Alif. G. Dhaal, Gnaviyani and Seenu) may also be affected during the period 17 - 23 March 2002 between 1310 - 1320hrs.
These degradations will not last for more than 5 minutes, in the worst case.
Sun interference is a natural phenomenon that occurs twice every year when the Sun, communications satellites and Earth Stations become aligned, causing solar noise to interfere with the satellite communication signals.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to our customers.
