We would like to announce that applications are now open for NGO registration for Dhiraagu Maldives Road Race (DMRR) 2023. 

DMRR is the biggest annual run held in the country and since its inception in 2007, has been the only international run held in the Maldives which is officially registered in AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races). Every year, the race is dedicated towards a social cause – child protection – and is a significant platform for NGOs working in the area of child protection to create awareness and raise funds for their cause. 

All NGOs meeting the eligibility criteria will be endorsed as a registered NGO of DMRR and will be featured on the event website. At the time of race registration, runners will have the opportunity to nominate an NGO from the list of endorsed NGOs. Dhiraagu will provide a special grant to the top five NGOs nominated by the runners, based on the number of nominations received. Furthermore, NGOs will also receive contributions from the registration proceeds to help them kick-start their planned activities.

All interested NGOs can submit their application via email to [email protected]. Applications will be open until 23:59 hrs on 12 August 2023. 

The following information must be included in the application:

1. A brief overview/profile of the NGO.
2. A declaration expressing the NGO’s commitment to child protection as a focus area of initiatives or as part of their overarching objectives and plans.
3. A brief summary highlighting the practical actions that the NGO has undertaken in the area of child protection over the past 12 months.
4. A description of the initiatives planned for the next 12 months pertaining to child protection.
