| 2008-05-08 : Dhiraagu introduces colour SMS for the first time in Maldives |
Dhiraagu, the nation’s premier telecoms company has launched another new service for the first time in Maldives. This new service allows customers to send and receive SMS in colour. This is part of Dhiraagu’s continued efforts to bring new technologies and innovative services to our customers.
Colour SMS is a Java application that works with java enabled phones. This new application allows users to type text using various colours, add emoticons and send as a normal text message. Both sender and receiver should install the colour SMS application to use this service.
Customers can simply download the application by visiting mymobile.mv from their mobile phones. Customers can also download the colour SMS application by simply sending an SMS to 333 with G (space) 10188
A nominal fee of Rf20 will be charged for downloading the colour SMS and this is a once-off charge. Colour SMS charges will be same as standard SMS charges and Dhiraagu offers the lowest rates for SMS, MMS, Mobile Internet and Calls to friends and family.

Colour SMS supports 140 characters
