How do I know if I can use my mobile on the aeroplane?
Passengers joining an aircraft equipped with AeroMobile will be advised so by the cabin crew Not all aircraft offer AeroMobile service, so please check with the cabin crew if you are unsure before switching on or trying to use your mobile phone.
Can I use the phone that I am currently using at home?
Yes. AeroMobile supports all GSM compatible phones. All Dhiraagu customers use GSM phones so, as a Dhiraagu customer, you will be able to use your existing handset.
When can I use my phone?
Mobile phones are still required to be switched off during take-off and landing. Once airborne, the cabin crew will advise you when you may turn on your mobile phones. If the crew requests you to turn off your mobile phone at any time during the flight, you are required to do so.
Availability. I was able to use this service on a previous flight on the same route, but I can’t use it on this flight?
As this service is currently not installed on all aeroplanes, customers are advised to check with the cabin crew, who also have complete control of the service, enabling or disabling the service as required.. Depending on the situation, such as on night time flights, the crew may disable AeroMobile service or may enable text-only service.
Do I have to subscribe to this service?
No. As long as your phone is enabled for international roaming service, all you need to do is simply switch your mobile phone on to access service, just as you would when travelling abroad.
How will I get billed?
Charges for calls and text messages will appear on your normal mobile phone bill, under roaming charge.
What will the voice quality be like?
The quality of voice through AeroMobile service will be similar to any other GSM network.
Will bad weather affect this service?
No, bad weather will not affect this service. But cabin crew may disable this service during turbulence, for personal safety reasons. |
