The Internet is a treasure of information, useful for studies, for entertainment, and for keeping up to date with happenings around the world.
Unfortunately, the Internet is also host to countless websites aiming to harm children, through the use of material which is absolutely unsuitable for both children and teenagers. However, as long as you are smart enough to follow the safety guidelines, the Internet can provide tons of information and hours of fun.
The smart way to use the Internet is:
NEVER giving your personal details such as name, home address,
school name or contact numbers to someone you meet on the Internet.
NEVER accepting and opening emails and files from unknown contacts.
NEVER downloading files from unknown or unreliable sources.
NEVER writing to anyone who makes you feel uncomfortable or scared.
NEVER, ever meeting up with anyone you find on the Internet.
NEVER sending your photos to strangers.
NEVER assuming that people online are actually what, or who, they say.
If you ever have any doubts, or if anything you see, or anyone you meet, on the Internet, makes you feel uncomfortable, please talk to a trusted adult member of your family.
