Short Message Service (SMS) allows you to send and receive text messages (up to 160 characters long) to and from GSM mobile phones.

When it's difficult to talk, when privacy is essential or when you can't put it into words, you can say it in text even if the person you are sending a message to, is engaged or has switched off their mobile phone. The network will store the message and deliver it usually within seconds!

You can also use it to send "short codes" - typically a series of numbers or letters - to find info and enter contests. Plus, you can sign up to receive text alerts so you'll automatically receive the latest news, weather, sports and more.

What is the charge?

20 laari per SMS will be charged for SMS sent to any Dhiraagu mobile
number.

If you send an SMS to any other national operator you will be charged
50 laari per SMS.

Setup is free and automatically activated to all customers and there is no monthly charge.

Find out information about your SIM Card

Your Mobile SIM card can store messages received from the Short Message Service. In addition, your phone may also be able to store messages.

Mobile SIM Cards can store up to 30 messages at one time. The number of message you can store in your phone depends on the make and model you have. Your phone manual will give you this information.

When your SIM memory is full, your messages will be kept in our SMS System for 2 days, or until the old messages are cleared.

Some useful points

If the message is sent and cannot be received, it will be periodically
re-sent at shorter intervals. If the message still does not get through
after 48 hours,  Mobile Message Centre will stop trying.

If a message is anticipated but has not been received, turn the phone off and on again. This way, the phone registers with the network and
the message is automatically resent.
