DID is a feature that allows incoming calls to a PABX system to reach a specific PABX extension without going through an operator. Hence this is a very useful feature for businesses that have several PABX extensions. Callers can dial a complete number, similar to dialing a public telephone number, without waiting for a response from the PABX system.

DID also allow individual extension numbers to be sent as Caller ID.
